the coast. he collapsed at salt point state park near santa rosa. last weekend, three divers died. one at salt point park, another at shell beach and third off ft. bragg. two of the victims were from the peninsula and one was from san francisco. yesterday's victim is described as middle-aged about a man from the east bay. >> developing news, fire officials in southern california are confident the massive spring fire will be fully contained by tomorrow. the 28,000 square acre fire is 60% contained. cooler temperatures helped firefighters get a handle on the flames and allowed residents to come back home. >> weather allowed us to get our resources in position that we needed. >> we shipped out and came back last night will we didn't want to take any chances, the wind gets blowing, you never know. >> in riverside county, 650-acre veg taking fire is 75 contained. temperatures in southern california have dropped 20 degrees in two days. >> new at 9:00, two pg&e workers were injured when a transformer exploded in san francisco. >> a video captured by a bay view district resident happened

calfire and napa fire departments for their quick response, and santa rosa residents are celebrating additions to their fire department. more than two dozen firefighters from calfire and napa fire department responded at 1:00 in napa. the grass fire threatened two homes. flames came right up to one house. >> it came right up to the siding on the garage. it's close -- there's been -- last year a fire, couple years before that, same location. >> the fire was put out in 40 minutes. four grass fires like this have threatened his home over the past nine years he has lived here. to be ready to fight fires like this, two firehouses have been opened. fear house 11 opened up in time to save the life of 50-year-old man this week. >> stopped breathing, no heart rate. they were able to deliver the patient to a hospital with pulses and breathing on his own. so, -- that station was due to be browned out. >> firehouse 10 and firehouse 11 have been around out since 2009. an open house is being reld to residents can see things are back to normal. this home owner is glad she has a fully staffed fire s

santa rosa fog and 50 degrees. as we head out the door more clouds near the shoreline than inland, as per usual in the bay area. sunshine in the bay and 64 degrees as you head out. it will warm up as the day goes on. at the giants game sunny and mild. 71 degrees. a plot in the clouds thicken out there. a foggy start at the coast. inland will be near 90 today. then a cool week ahead as low pressure moves in. you can see that at the pacific north y. a lot of sunshine today. for fun let's look at the forecast for tahoe. 71 at truckee tomorrow. 69 at heavenly and 67 in sierra and tahoe and 83 over at reno. all week partly cloudy skies at tahoe. winds out of the southwest. low 60s by next weekend and the next few days in the 70s, nice in the mountains. 82 in vallejo. 89 in san jose and here in the city 72 will do it and 82 at mountain view in. the look ahead the number will be routinely in the low 80s. we will cool 3 to 5 degrees tomorrow and as we head to next weekend after a bit of a cooling trend, just in time for next weekend it will warm up again in the low 80s. a nice week ahead.

. do be careful. santa rosa 49 right now. 55 in pair field. union city and los gatos. we are looking at the low clouds, the fog, the marine layer at about 1,000 feet. it will take until about 10:00, 11:00 until that burns back. once it does, a wide range of temperatures. sunny and mild this afternoon with temperatures still in the upper 50s at our coast but warming to near 90, not only today inland, but also for mother's day, as well. here's a look at the visibilities of just a half-mile up for our friends in santa rosa, 2 1/2 miles half moon bay. things will change a little bit so navigating this morning certainly should be a little bit tricky from the north bay through novato and mill valley and also down along the coast. keep that in mind. we have high pressure building in off the coast and that is pushing the storm track to the north. but we are also going to see a had few high clouds drift across the sky from time to time. mostly sunny sky with fewer high clouds around the bay today and that will allow for maybe not quite as warm as we could get if we had full sunshine. but none

nine years. it's ready to fight fires like this that two santa rosa firehouses have reopened full time. firehouse 11 opened up in time to save the life of a man this week. >> was not breathing and didn't have a heart rate and they delivered him to the hospital with a pulse. >> firehouse 11 on lewis road have been browned out since 2009. nearby homeowner says she now has a full time fully staffed fire station. >> we live up just the road and we have almost a acre. it's getting hot. with little ones you get nervous. it's nice to know we have firefighters, more of them here. >> the two firehouses were victims of bad economic times. deputy chief says they worked out a plan to keep the area covered. >> the station was browned out and station 10 was opened. when ten was browned out, station 11 was open. >> the sacrifice was helped by a fema grant. it allowed the department to hire 14 knew firefighters. >> the fema grant runs out in two years but firefighters say they and the still will come up with the necessary funds to make sure that changes are permanent. >> ama: stay with us for continui

novato. mid 60s up toward santa rosa. the window is the story. most of the bay area seeing south winds 15 to 30 miles an hour. this helped to bring in more moisture, it feels a little muggy outside throughout much of the day today. that's good news where fire danger concerned. winds coming in onshore. too much wind giving us a wind advisory for parts of san jose mainly off to the south out toward los gatos and down the san mateo county coastline. some wind gusts in parts of the south bay could still get up to close to 45 miles per hour. most of the moisture has moved onto txe north, but the system responsible hasn't gone anywhere sitting right here off to the west around our area of low pressure. this is going to continue to keep the winds going tonight and toss a few more hours our way. as this low traction closer to the coast going into tomorrow and tuesday, we're going to get the combination of some cooler air aloft, daytime heating and more moisture coming in. so we will see more showers tomorrow afternoon than we saw today and potentially even some that yours too especially around

sprinkle or light shower and you can see the system to the north grazing north of santa rosa so you may get a few sprinkles headed into the afternoon hours. the bulk of the moisture is to the north with snow down to 6,000' in tea he, they had 6 to 8 inches overnight. we cannot see the cloud bottoms because the rain is coming out from south beach, temperature is 68 in san francisco and walnut creek and oakland is 61 and 70 in palo alto and 67 in mill valley. as we take a look great sutro towers to the east you can see clouds are thicker the further away you go but no radar runs. they are coming. 66 in santa rosa, los gatos 66, and gilroy at 71. from mount tamalpais we are 2,600' up and the cloud base is higher but that will be dropping, also, as the air becomes more moisture-laden and that is why i put the chance of scattered showers in today and tomorrow's forecast, with sunny spots, but notice the temperatures are close to average if not one or two degrees warmer and when we get out of this the warm air rushes back in for the weekend but it will not be oppressively hot. we are watching the
